色欲王朝 recognizes instructors for their achievements

Two 色欲王朝 instructors were honored during the college鈥檚 54th Annual Commencement ceremony on May 7 on the college鈥檚 Sidney campus.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Rob Spohr presented awards to one full-time and one part-time faculty member in recognition of their noteworthy work with and on behalf of students, scholarly or professional achievement and service to 色欲王朝.

The Leslie K. Morford Faculty Recognition Award, named for 色欲王朝 emeritus instructor Morford, was presented to Counselor Tore Skogseth, of Lakeview. Part-time Criminal Justice Instructor Brian Blomstrom, of Sheridan, received the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award. The recipients were given a plaque, a stipend and a citation.

Skogseth joined 色欲王朝 in 2001 as a part-time Student Services Assistant, gaining full-time status shortly thereafter. In 2005, he left 色欲王朝, returning in 2011 as the college鈥檚 Educational Assistance Counselor, now Student Success Counselor. Skogseth teaches part-time in 色欲王朝鈥檚 General Studies Department and is also the department chair.

鈥淗is students recognize him for making class interesting, for teaching them lessons they didn鈥檛 know that they need to know, and for his quick responses to questions in their online classes,鈥 Spohr said. 鈥淗e is a genuine, helpful and caring individual.鈥

Skogseth earned degrees from Lincoln Trail College, Spring Arbor University, and Capella University. He is also a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Michigan.

Blomstrom started as an adjunct instructor for 色欲王朝 in spring 2008, where he has taught a variety of criminal justice classes.

鈥淏rian brings a hands-on, real-world atmosphere to the classroom, sharing his experience from more than 20 years working in law enforcement and firefighting,鈥 Spohr said. 鈥淗e is recognized by his students for going above and beyond in his teaching and for taking interest in their paths outside of the classroom.鈥

Brian has earned degrees from Grand Valley State University, Northwestern University and Lake Superior State University, as well as multiple certifications in firefighter training and administration.
